The Castle Course
The latest addition to the ‘ Links Six ‘ is the Castle Course.
Although only 15 years old it looks older than any of the other St. Andrews courses; it is also much ,much different.
Built along a rugged , seaside precipice a mile or so outside the town it is a simple contradiction in terms in that it is a cliff top links course. At nearly 6500yds off the back medals it is one of the most severe tests of golf in Scotland, and sufficiently difficult as not to be used for any St Andrews Club competitions.
Built on the site of the medieval Kinkell Castle, it offers the most breathtaking views over the ‘ Auld grey toon ‘ and St.Andrews Bay.
