Fairmont Torrance Golf Course
The Torrance and Kittocks courses are part of, and operated by, the Fairmont Hotel Group, and the hotel is the accommodation of choice for PGSA Golf Tours. The Torrance was elevated to a final qualifying round choice for the 2010 British Open and thoroughly deserves its selection, but at 7300 yds, it should be noted that it is a walking only course. A golfer’s determination will be rewarded by a simply stunning course with unparalleled views of the dramatic Fife coastline
A little History on the Torrance Golf Course...
The course was originally designed by Dennis Griffiths with Gene Sarazen and Sam Torrance providing some headline grabbing input. In 2008 some major reconfiguring gave the course a more elevated status and the R & A considered it suitable to host one of the final qualifying rounds for the 2010 Open Championship; Kingsbarns received a similar accolade at the same time. This is not just the usual add on facility for a five star hotel. The course can stand comparison with Scotland’s finest links.
Playing the Torrance Golf Course with PGSA Golf Tours
With fast running greens protected by well-placed bunkers and a full length of 7230 yds, this course will demand the golfers full attention. That will be easily distracted by the magnificent cliff top views over the Tay estuary and the Angus hills beyond.
The Kittocks is its sister course and an equally delightful and demanding test of golf.
